Welcome to Lodge St Anthony 154
Now that the Installation of Office Bearers for 2019 has been carried out, Lodge St Anthony is ready for another busy year. We are fortunate that, although a couple of the minor offices are vacant, we have a good mix of youth and experience with the majority of the progressive offices being filled by brethren who are not Past Masters. By next year, hopefully, we should be back to the normal cycle of serving 2 years in each office.
The charitable work of the Lodge continues and, as well as our own efforts, we were pleased to support the fund-raising by the Provincial Grand Master, Bro Andy Lawrie, for his nominated charity, Friends of Anchor. In 2018 we also had a joint venture with the Order of St Raphael with a bag pack at Morrisons just before Christmas. This was to help raise funds for a defibrillator unit in High Street, Inverurie, probably outside the Lodge. I am hopeful that this type of co-operation with other organisations will continue in the year ahead.
Freemasonry is not, as is often alleged, a secret society; we are a society of like-minded individuals trying to improve outselves and society. If you are interested in finding out more, use the link on this website to visit The Grand Lodge of Scotland website and read The Aims and Relationships of the Craft. Alternatively, feel free to contact either our Secretary or myself. we would be more than happy to talk to you.
Let me close by thanking our Provincial Grand Master, who demits office on 7th February, for his assistance and support throughout his term of office.
Brian RG Morton, RWM
